AUTISTIC TODDLER WANDERS, PARENTS CHARGED
A Williamsport couple have been charged with endangerment of a child and more after police were called to the 1600 block of Sherman Street for reports of their 4 year old autistic child wandering alone outside wearing only dirty pants. According to North central PA dot com, parents 28 year old Dominique Scott, and 29 year old Kwane Hall, were found asleep on the couch of the home when Lycoming County Children and Youth Services caseworkers who were near the the 1600 block of Catherine Street saw the door of the apartment open and went inside. They discovered unlivable conditions and a 7 and 8 year old child in the apartment who weren’t in school. CYS are caring for the three children and Scott and Hall were taken into custody in liue of 25 thousand dollars bail each.
MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT NEAR MONTOURSVILLE SLOWS HIGHWAY TRAFFIC
I-180 was backed up in both directions yesterday afternoon in Lycoming County after two motorcyclists riding eastbound together overturned. According to the Sun Gazette, a group of four cyclists were traveling together west of Montoursville and one of the two involved in the crash suffered injuries and Loyalsock Township fire officials responded. Emergency crews transported the one victim to UPMC Williamsport. The second rider declined medical treatment. Both were wearing helmets at the time of the wreck. No cause of the accident has been released.
SOCCER FIELD VANDALS BEING SOUGHT BY POLICE
Lycoming Regional Police are seeking a suspect who vandalized the AYSO Jones soccer field at 915 McKee Road. According to media outlets, witnesses say a dark grey Volkswagen Tiguan may be responsible for the destruction. The recent damage observed by officers include multiple tire tracks and ruts scattered across the soccer field with damage to five goal posts and three flags. E-CYCLING EVENT SATURDAY IN SUNBURY
You can recycle unwanted electronic devices at no cost in Sunbury this weekend. An Earth Day E-Cycling event will be 10am to noon this Saturday at the Skating Rink parking lot at 249 Memorial Drive. Items like computers, laptops, smartphones, tablets, printers, and radios will be accepted for free. However, small car and truck tires require a fee of $5 each. Televisions, washers, dryers, microwaves, or Freon-related appliances like air conditioners will not be accepted. INSURANCE FRAUD CHARGES FOR DUBOISTOWN MAN
A Duboistown man is facing fraud charges after he claimed another motorist cut him off in Williamsport city traffic causing his car to strike a parked BMW last November along West Fourth Street. According to the Sun Gazette, police initially saw that the damage Robert Lee Fritz described did not match the actual damage to his car and obtained a video of the incident, which they say showed Fritz drifting into the BMW on his own with no outside motorist involved. Police say Fritz reported the false information to his insurance company. He is now charged with felony insurance fraud and making a false report to law enforcement.
MAN CHARGED AFTER NOT REPORTING TO MEGHAN’S LIST
A Marion Heights man is jailed and facing felony charges for failing to register for the Meghan’s Law list. According to the Daily Item, state police received a tip that 64 year old Jeffrey Heiser was no longer living at the registered address, and individuals at the old address said he had been kicked out of the home and was out of contact since October. Mount Carmel Township police were informed about Heiser and they apprehended and charged him with felony failure to report. Heiser was committed to Northumberland County Jail in liue of $20,000 cash bail.
PSP INDEPENDENT REVIEW FOR THE GOVERNOR’S ARSON CASE
There will be a third party review of the Pennsylvania State Police handling of the arson attack on Gov. Josh Shapiro’s official residence last week. According to the Standard Journal, Spotlight PA reports that Jeffrey Miller will conduct the assessment. He was at the helm of the State Police for six years until his retirement in 2008. The independent review results will only become public if the information found does not jeopardize the ongoing investigation. 38-year-old Harrisburg resident Cody Balmer turned himself in at State Police headquarters after breaking into the governor’s residence just outside downtown Harrisburg and fleeing. and has been charged with attempted murder, arson, and other crimes.
BRADFORD COUNTY NATIVE TAPPED FOR MID-ATLANTIC EPA JOB
A Philadelphia woman who grew up on a dairy farm in Bradford County has been named as President Trump’s appointee by the US Environmental Protection Agency to be the new EPA administrator for the Mid-Atlantic region. According to EPA.gov, Amy Van Blarcom-Lackey will oversee the implementation of federal environmental laws and priorities in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, D.C., West Virginia, and the Chesapeake Bay. Van Blarcom-Lackey has over a decade of experience as a lobbyist for state and federal agricultural interests and over 20 years of experience in finance and business management.

Steve McMichael, the Pro Football Hall of Famer and member of the Chicago Bears’ Super Bowl 20 team, has died. He was 67 years old.
In 2021, McMichael was diagnosed with ALS and in August 2023 was confined to a bed, which is where he learned of his Hall of Fame selection, surrounded by friends and former teammates. He was officially inducted in August 2024.
McMichael became the sixth member of the famous 1985 Bears team to earn Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement, joining Jimbo Covert, Richard Dent, Dan Hampton, Walter Payton and Mike Singletary.
