POLICE SEEK MISSING MANSFIELD WOMAN
Police say a Mansfield woman told her boyfriend not to look for her when she walked out of his home on North Bullock Road in Richmond Township, Tioga County around 11:30pm February 14th. According to State Police in Mansfield, the boyfriend, Nathan Troisi, called them to report 36 year old Courtney Crum missing around 1am that same night when it was around 18 degrees. Police arrived at the scene and conducted a search of the area but did not find Crum. She remains missing at this time. If you have information about Crum, who is 5’6” and about 115 pounds, last seen wearing black leggings and a black jacket, please call state police 570-662-2151.
ROUTE 220 NORTH REOPENED AFTER CRASH MONDAY
Route 220 reopened just after midnight following a multi-vehicle crash that closed the roadway just after 7pm Monday evening. According to PennDOT, both lanes of northbound 220 were shut down after Lycoming Regional Police said the crash occurred between the Pine Creek exit for PA 44 North and the Thomas Street exit. Traffic was diverted using alternate routes for several hours.
TROUT STOCKING SCHEDULE AVAILABLE ONLINE
The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission announced their Trout stocking schedule before Mentored Youth Trout Day on Saturday, March 29 and 1st day of trout season April 5th. The commission will stock approximately 3.2 million adult trout in 691 streams and 130 lakes open to the public. The 2025 adult trout stocking schedule is available online at Fbweb.pa.gov. It allows users to search the schedule by county, lists waterways in alphabetical order and lists species of trout stocked at each area. Info on fishing and licenses are at fishandboat.com
AIRPORT USE GROWING IN WILLIAMSPORT
Flight service continues to grow as more customers are using Southern Airways express at Williamsport Municipal Airport after two flights per day Monday to Friday, including an early morning departure, from the airport to Washington, D.C. were announced in May 2024. According to the Sun Gazette, Williamsport Municipal Airport Authority officials say 362 passengers utilized the service Iin January compared to 238 in December. Some flights were cancelled following bad weather, but 47 flights in January were completed. Southern Airways and the authority signed a two-year contract for continued flight service late last year.
MORE SHOPLIFTING CHARGES FOR ALLENTOWN MAN
A man from Allentown who police say had previously been charged with shoplifting in 2008 and 2017 was seen on surveillance video February 7th stealing merchandise from the Lewisburg Walmart. According to Milton State police, Alan O. Ongiri was identified as the suspect after police investigated the plate number of his tan Honda sedan they saw leaving the store parking lot. Ongiri was charged with felony retail theft after he was seen taking sunglasses, eggs and frozen chicken wings through the self-checkout, but only paid for the eggs. A total of 35 dollars of items were taken. Ongiri has a preliminary hearing March 20th in Northumberland County Court.
MORE TRESPASSERS CITED IN HARTLEY TOWNSHIP
More people have been cited for trespassing at the former Laurelton Center in Hartley Township, the fourth report within the last 11 months so far. According to the Daily Item, State police at Milton say five teenagers between the ages of 16 and 18 and one 21-year-old adult from Mifflinburg, Middleburg and Selinsgrove were each cited with a non-traffic summary count of defiant trespass after being found on the 266-acre vacant complex along Route 45. Other incidents at the Laurelton Center have occurred recently, including a theft of copper pipes and wire which caused about 12 thousand dollars worth of damage at the facility.
DETAILS ON STRONG CRASH THAT INJURED TWO
Police are still investigating the two-car crash that happened in Mount Carmel last Wednesday and have released the identities of the individuals who were hurt. According to the News Item, police say 62 year old Mark Frank of Strong was in a white GMC Acadia north on Route 61 and attempted to turn left onto South School Street colliding with 39 year old Jeannie Lynn Delong of Mount Carmel who was driving a black Jeep. Both cars had to be towed from the scene after sustaining heavy damage. Delong and her 12 year old passenger were transported to Geisinger and Frank complained of shoulder pain but refused service at the scene. Route 61 was closed by 6pm while crews cleared the debris.
REST AREAS ON I-80 TO CLOSE FOR MAINTENANCE
PennDOT is closing the east and westbound I-80 rest area at mile marker 246 this week for several months to accommodate renovations and construction efforts. The work includes the parking areas which will also be closed. According to the department they will perform upgrades to the current comfort facilities, to the utility lines, and the water treatment plants. The closures begin this Thursday, February 20th and will last through August.
